It’s graduation season, and I couldn’t have asked for a more joyful way to kick it off than photographing twin sisters J & C! These two are about to graduate from the same high school I went to, which made for some hilarious reminiscing about all the changes (and non-changes) over the past ten years. Turns out, the air ducts still haven’t been updated—but now there are cameras in the hallways. Progress?

What made this session extra special was how much J & C wanted their photos to reflect their individual personalities. C brought her guitar, ready to strum her way through golden hour, while J fully embraced her woodland fairy spirit, twirling and frolicking through the gardens. With their Pinterest board as our guide, we set out to create something that felt uniquely them.

Maymont gave us the perfect backdrop—lush greenery, dreamy golden light, and the kind of timeless beauty that just makes a session feel magical. We stayed right until closing, watching the moon rise softly over the gardens while the last light of the sun painted everything in gold. J & C danced under the evening sky, swishing their skirts, hopping across stepping stones, and celebrating this incredible milestone with laughter and joy.

Between solo portraits and sister shots, we captured this era in their lives in a way they’ll be able to look back on forever. I couldn’t be happier for these two as they step into their next adventure—wherever life takes them, I know they’ll bring the same light, creativity, and fun that made this session so special.
