Meaghan & Matt at Old St. John's Church | Central Virginia Wedding Photographer

Meaghan and Matt after their ceremony - officially wife and husband!

Meaghan and Matt’s wedding at Old St. John’s Church in West Point, VA, was nothing short of magical. The historic church, steeped in timeless charm, provided the perfect backdrop for their deeply personal ring and handfasting ceremony. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate and meaningful celebration of their love. I am so grateful for Heather Mrva Photography for bringing me as her associate!

Following the ceremony, guests stepped outside to enjoy a cocktail hour under the crisp Virginia sky. Meaghan and Matt’s extended family was well-represented, and they made sure to celebrate the youngest members with joy and inclusion. With two ring bearers and a flower girl leading the way, the children brought a sense of sweetness to the ceremony. As the flower girl frolicked down the aisle in her adorable white dress, I can't help but smile thinking of the scene in Father of the Bride with Steve Martin where he pictures his daughter in pigtails saying she's getting married.

During cocktail hour, they turned the wooded area into their own adventure playground, engaging in a lively mock fencing and nerf gun battle with sticks. Their laughter filled the air as they darted through the trees before heading back to join the adults for dinner.

The festivities continued in a fairytale-like tent filled with soft candlelight, creating an ambiance that felt warm, romantic, and completely enchanting.

One of my favorite parts of weddings is getting to experience the unique touches each couple brings to their day—and the desserts are always a highlight! Meaghan and Matt went all out with a pie table that was an absolute hit. Their guests loved sampling the variety, and I have to admit, I may have gone back for seconds! Their cake also featured a sweet nod to their beloved pup, adding a playful and heartfelt detail that made the day even more special.

It was also incredible to see how their families’ shared Navy ties wove into the celebration. Both Meaghan and Matt's families have connections to the Navy, and honoring this part of their lives added depth and meaning to the day.

The entire wedding radiated an atmosphere of fun and freedom—the kind of magic you only get when celebrating love outside, surrounded by nature’s beauty. From the heartfelt ceremony to the glowing reception, Meaghan and Matt’s wedding was a stunning celebration of love, family, and tradition. I’m so honored to have captured such beautiful moments for them.

Congratulations, Meaghan and Matt, on your unforgettable day! Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and pie-filled adventures. 🥂
